Overview
It is about 20 years before that a misterious relation between quantum invariants and hyperbolic volumes of knot complements was discovered. Such relation is now called the volume conjecture, and its proof for general case is still open. But this idea relates to the quantum Teichmuller theory and gives a new technology to develop quantum topology. The aim of this workshop is to report the current situation of the volume conjecture is discussed and its application to quantum topology. We also include some related topics concerning to quantum invariants and hyperbolic structure of knots and 3-manifolds.
